ASHINE (Association for Harnessing Innovation & Entrepreneurship) is a Section 8 (Not-for-Profit) Company, incorporated by Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat in the year 2017 to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship by encouraging, supporting, and promoting technology-based startups and providing an ecosystem for their growth.
ASHINE is recognized as the Technology Business Incubator (TBI) by the Department of Science and Technology under National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (DST-NSTEDB), Ministry of Science &Technology, Government of India.
ASHINE is a 20,000 sq. ft. Technology Business Incubator with an infrastructure consisting of incubation space, co-working space, meeting room, conference room, event space, a FabLab space, and equipment for prototype development and testing.
To date, ASHINE has supported 67 innovative projects, guiding them through the critical Proof of Concept phase, and has nurtured 57 startups during their pre-incubation and incubation stages. ASHINE has provided more than 2 Cr. of funding to the students, startups and innovators to scaleup their idea. Furthermore, ASHINE actively assists startups and innovators in securing Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for their innovations, safeguarding their intellectual assets. ASHINE has supported 12 IP applications with funding, to date to secure their IPs.
