Research & Consultancy

CONSULTANCY:

Consultancy Project refers to an assignment or job commissioned by an external agency to a faculty member of the Institute, within agreed-upon parameters. Leveraging the Institute's diverse research expertise, these projects offer knowledge and intellectual contributions aligned with the industry's or other organizations' needs, both domestically and internationally. Such projects may also be initiated by the Department Head or an Institute authority, with compliance to relevant laws ensured by the Institute.

The faculty or Principal Investigator (PI) overseeing the project manages the associated finances and ensures the Institute's share is duly allocated. Originating either from the industry/organizations or initiated by faculty members, the project's time and cost estimates are the faculty's responsibility. The PI then drafts the proposal, which must bear their signature and is endorsed by the Dean/Associate Dean R&C, with the office assigning a unique internal project number.

Project leadership rests with the PI, possibly supported by Co-Principal Investigators (co-PIs), with deliverables falling under their purview. The Institute offers necessary assistance to the PIs throughout the project duration. At the end of each fiscal year, a designated authority prepares the statement of expenditure and utilization certificate if necessary.

Upon project completion, the final report is submitted to the funding agency, with a copy forwarded to the office of SRCD.
