B.Tech. 3rd Year student’s team Agrani has secured first position at the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH-2024) held at Nodal Center Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai, on 12 Dec 2024. Among the 50,000 teams that participated nationally, Team Agrani stood out, being one of the top 2.4 percentile teams to qualify for the finale. They were also one of the six teams selected to work on a prestigious problem statement no. SIH1623 presented by the Government of NCT Delhi. The Problem Statement involved developing a real-time monitoring and evaluation of software for Fire Department applications pertaining to inspections, follow-ups, and NOC issuance.

A delegation of Young Scientists from India participated in the 9th Young Scientist Forum of the BRICS 2024 which was held in Sochi, Russia during 25 to 29 November 2024. The PhD student of department of Computer Science and Engineering Dr. Dilay Amarbhai Parmar, Scientific / Technical Officer, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat was selected as one of the Young Scientists from India by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Government of India.

Dr. Balu L. Parne, Faculty Co-chairperson of the SVNIT Surat ACM Student Chapter, along with Student Chairperson Mr. Param Pathak (U22CS023) and Secretary Mr. Raj Vadodaria (U22CS077) participated in the ACM India Chapter Summit on the 20th and 21st of December 2024.

Nitin Meena (U21CS106) Secured first position in All India Inter NIT Cricket Tournament 2024 held at NIT Trichy. He also secured player of the match in league match, semifinal match and final match.

Mohammed Fowzan (U22CS008), Param Kamlesh Pathak (U22CS023), Vaibhav Gupta (U22CS029) and Baraiya Aashutosh Rajubhai (U22CS109) secured first rank in Google Winter of Code event 2024 organized by Google Developer Student Club of SVNIT.

Aman Raj (U23CS021), Manan Velani (U23CS027), Divyansh Martolia (U23CS044) and Prathamkumar Maheshwari (U23CS070) secured first rank in RiddleFuse 2024, a dynamic event crafted by Nexus cell, which includes Fun activities, Games and Debates.

Meet Modi (U22CS027) and Paras Verma (U23CS117) secured third rank in Dalal Street event organized by Mindbend 2024, SVNIT Surat.

Dharita Chaudhari (U19CS096) secured Runner up position in All India Inter NIT Tournament of Athletics (400 meter running and Long jump).

Garvit Shah (U21CS089) secured 3rd position and prize of of Rs. 10,000/- at Tech Expo organized by Tarun Mitra Mandal and presented by Navneet. He made a self-sustainable solar powered e-bicycle prototype working model.

Dharmil Vinubhai Halpati (U22CS049) scored in top 15% in LinkedIn skill assessment test in C language and scored top 30% in HTML.

Pakhi Srivastava (U20CS059) is selected for LinkedIn CoachIn 3.0 program. She is the winner of JPMC Code for Good.

Oza Jeetkumar Vishnubhai (U20CS003) is selected in Top 45 teams in INAE-SERB IITJ Youth-Conclave hackathon. He is also selected in Top 50 teams in Dotslash 5.0 and completed GCCP google cloud skill boost program.

Shrey Patel (U20CS030) is selected as a GDSC (Google developer student club) Lead for SVNIT campus 2022-23. He is selected in Top 45 teams in INAE-SERB IITJ Youth-Conclave hackathon. He secured5th rank in CodeRush Coding Challenge hosted in NIT Surat. He is selected in Top 50 teams in Dotslash 5.0 hackathon conducted by ACM NIT.

Shubh Suthar (U21CS037) has won the second prize at the DEVHEAT hackathon, conducted by the IIIT-Surat. He along with his team is qualified for the final round of the Azadika Amrit Mahotsav hackathon, organized by the Government of Gujarat.

Neem Sheth (U22CS059) secured first place in the ACM summer challenge 2023 organized by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), SVNIT Surat on 9th October 2023. He secured second place in CodeSprint hosted by NEXUS Cell in January 2024.

Misbah Shaikh (U22CS043), Mahesh Thakkar (U21CS023), Kaushik Bhowmik (U21CS022), and Tejo Kaushal (U21CS119) were shortlisted for the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon 2023 at Veer Surendra Sai University, Sambalpur, Odisha for open Innovation Category.

Aayudh Panchal (U22CS050), Tanish Panchal (U22CS069), Keya Patel (U22CS047) and Anushka Ghushe (U22CS022) secured first position in Ideathon event for the track "Safeguarding our Arboreal Allies" organised by the Google Developer Students Club, at SVNIT Surat.

ACM Summer Challenge was a month-long coding marathon held between 7th June 2022 to 11th July 2022

The winners of Epiphany 12.0 were:

1) Shubham Bhadada (SVNIT, Surat, Gujarat), 2) Harsh Malvi (SVNIT, Surat, Gujarat), 3) Manan Dahiya (Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, Karnataka).

Epiphany 12.0 is a national-wide coding contest conducted on the 11th of November 2022.

Inception 7.0 is one of ACM's most distinguished events to promote a competitive coding culture within the sophomore students of SVNIT held on 10th September 2022.

Mr. Ankur O. Bang has secured first runner up position in a paper presentation in ISPDA 2021 for “White-Box Encryption Scheme for Resource-constrained IoT Devices” organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering during December 13-15, 2021.

Eshan Arora (U17CO017) has successfully completed the Google Summer of Code program 2021 for his contribution to the open source project Python Software foundation during June 7, 2021 to August 23, 2021. The project title was “Automatic Generation of Schema.

Dholikya Bhavik Prashantbhai (U20CS001) has obtained AIR3 for his outstanding performance in National Engineering Olympiad (NEO 4.0) in the category of First year Engineering conducted in July 2021.

Project Proposal for Pipe Climbing Robots category for ROBOFEST – Gujarat 2.0 competition by Neel Majethiya (U19CS014) and other students was selected for the proof of concept stage by Gujarat Council on Science and Technology, Govt. of Gujarat.

Sahil Bondre (U18CO021), Aemie Jariwala (U18CO059) and Yukta Shah (U18CO063) students of B.Tech-III developed a Police Vehicle Tracking System for SVNIT alumnus (2008 batch) Mr. Partha Protim Das, IPS, Dy SP for Cachar, Assam.

Abhisar Waghmare (U17CO078) student of B.Tech.-IV, Co-founded I-Stem (https://www.inclusivestem.org/), which recently received a lot many awards internationally and also grants from organizations like Microsoft and United Nations envoy.

Karan Mashru (U18CO043) student of B.Tech.-III secured Global Rank of 16 and India Rank of 9 out ofaround 5.7K total participants with a perfect score of 500/500 in CodeChef.

Dr. Ruchika Gupta got first prize for Application Security Track, ISEA Virtual Presentation Conclave (IVPC 2020) during 29-30 Jan 2021 at IIT Guwahati.
