INFED (Remote Access) Credentials

The Central Library is providing on and off access to subscribed e-resources and the resources provided by e-ShodhSindhu: Consortium for higher education electronic resources through a single platform. For this purpose, the Central Library is working on INFLIBNET Access Management Federation (INFED) platform. INFED has adopted Shibboleth, a standard-based open source software, for authenticating authorized users and provide them seamless access to e-resources from anywhere, anytime and also tracking the usages.
Interested students are suggested to fill the Google form (https://forms.gle/K2KisaZpLj61xfGc6) for access credentials.
After two working days of filling the form, users can check their access to INFED, the link is https://idp.svnit.ac.in/
Your user name is your email id, Password is as submitted in Google form
If it is working you are suggested go to the address https://idp.svnit.ac.in/password/ and change your password first.
The access credential is confidential to you and for your academic use only.

Turnitin Access Credentials

The central library is providing access credentials for Turnitin Originality Check Platform to the Research Scholars. To complete the registration process Research Scholars have to fill the Google Form (https://forms.gle/Wk66WmsuNZ21RRuU6) and forward the acknowledgement email received after filling the Google Form to the library@svnit.ac.in through their respective Guide/Supervisor (As a recommendation of Guide/Supervisor).
For Turnitin access credentials faculty members are requested to send an email to library@svnit.ac.in   (Users guide).

Now onwards, you need NOT request the library separately to delete the files. Filling out the Google Form is sufficient. The guide for deletion is available in the Google Form.

Grammarly Online Platform

To create an account on Grammarly Online Platform users are suggested to follow the points mentioned below. Those who have not installed free/self-subscribed Grammarly on their computer are suggested to start from point number 5.

  • 1) Suggested to clear the browser history and cookies of all time.
  • 2) Log into existing Grammarly free account ( http://www.grammarly.com) (If any installed)
  • 3) Visit the Profile page and click on the "Account" at https://account.grammarly.com
  • 4) Click the "Delete account" link, confirm the password and delete.
  • 5) Fill the google form ( https://forms.gle/JVtFbpKdq2KgY6r28) and forward the acknowledgement email received after filling the Google Form to anandjha@svnit.ac.in.
  • 6. After the account is created from our side, you will receive an invitation link from Grammarly to set up your account.
  • 7) Log in to your account at https://www.grammarly.com/edu
  • Access to Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)

    The central library has made accessible online catalogue (OPAC), user profile, recommendation to new resources and many more options through “Search Catalogue” option (https://www.svnit.ac.in/web/department/library/library.php) from inside as well as outside the campus. To access the OPAC, go to the Web OPAC page http://svnitopac.libsys10.in/ and login or click on Generate / Forgot Password    (Users guide).

    Recommendation to New Resources

    Users can Recommend the new resources for procurement/subscription to the library by filling out the attached “Recommendation Form” and sending a hard copy of the same to the Central Library after getting it recommended through the respective Departmental Academic Advisory Committee (DAAC).

    Submission of Thesis and Dissertation

    Research scholars and students are suggested to submit e-copy of their final Thesis and Dissertation to dis@svnit.ac.in
    The hard copy should be submitted to the Reference Section as per the following binding specifications:
    Binding Specifications
    The thesis must be hardcover bound in leather or rexin with the following colour specifications:
    Ph.D. Thesis: Black
    M.Tech. Dissertation: Grey
    M.Sc. Project Report: Brown

    Circulation

    The Circulation Section remains open between 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM on weekdays. On Sundays and holidays, only reading room and periodical section remains open. There is no issue and return of books on these days.

    *Note: User has to pay fine of 1 Rupee per day for each issued item after the due date.

    Faculty Members (Permanent) 25 Books For 6 Months
    Teaching Assistant 4 Books For 6 Months
    Visiting Faculties 4 Books For 1 Month
    Technical Staff 4 Books For 1 Month
    Non Technical Staff 3 Books For 1 Month

    Book Issuing Norms (For Others)

    Citizen Members 2 Books For 30 Days

    Reading Facilities

    Reading facilities (Magazines, Newspapers, Books etc.) are provided to the users from 9.00 A. M. to 10.00 P. M. in the library premises. During the examination period reading rooms are kept open up to 11:30 pm for the students to read their own materials.


    Reference Section

    Reference services are provided to the users from 9.30 A. M. to 5.30 P. M. Users can refer printed documents and CD ROM databases in the library during the specified period. The users also can avail the facilities like Database searching and printing.



    Book Bank Services

    Book Bank Services are provided to Under Graduate Students mainly for SC/ST/OBC students / Students of Lower Income Groups. Book Bank Books are issued to such students for one semester.
    Library Book Bank has a collection of 7,402 books.


    External Membership

    Any citizen can become a member of the central library by filling up the prescribed application form and paying requisite fees
