LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. All the library members will enter the library with their Identity Card.
2. All users/readers must make entry in the "Gate Entry Register" at the time of entry as well as exit.
3. Use of mobile phones in the Library is prohibited. Mobile phones should be kept in silent mode or should be switched off.
4. The users are responsible for keeping their personal belongings safe, and the library will not be responsible for any loss of the items.
5. Food and beverages items are not allowed in the library.
6. The readers shall maintain silence in the Library, and smoking and spitting are strictly prohibited.
7. Readers should refrain from talking or discussing as they may disturb other readers. Reading area meant for individual study and research only.
8. Readers are requested to follow the Queue System at the Circulation Counter.
9. All the issued books must be returned on or before the due date to avoid overdue charges and make them available for use by other members.
10. A penalty of ONE RUPEE will be charged daily after the books' due date.
11. A fine of Rs.50/- each will be charged for losing a Library Card.
12. The library reserves the right to call back any issued book/item at any time, and the member shall return the same immediately.
13. Library members should not mark, underline, write, or tear pages of library documents, including books/magazines/journals, etc.
14. Books borrowed should be protected from rain, dust, insects, etc., and returned in the same condition as they were issued.
15. RFID Tags have been pasted in the Books. If the Tag is found torn or damaged when used by the borrower, a fine of Rs.100/- will be charged for the same.
16. In case of loss or damage to any book, the reader must replace it with the latest edition. If the book is unavailable in the market, the reader must pay double the prevailing price at the time of purchase.
17. Reference documents like Dictionary, Encyclopaedia, Year Books, Current Journals, Theses, Project Reports, and Handbooks will not be issued.
18. The internet facility should be strictly used to access the e-resources.
19. The library accepts donations of manuscripts, books, journals, etc., in good conditions only, which are helpful to users.
20. The library ID card is non-transferable. Do not give an ID card to others; the library will not allow others on the same ID card.
21. The ID Cardholder is responsible for any book issued against it, as library records show.
22. Do not move books/journals from their specific area to another area.
23. Chairs and tables should be kept from their positions.
24. A maximum of four students are allowed at each table in the Reading Room.
25. All students are advised to come to the Library in decent dress as they are in the classrooms.
26. No photograph of the Library shall be taken without the prior permission of the Librarian/Library Incharge.
27. Students/members will vacate their seats ten minutes before the close of the library.
28. The Librarian/Library Incharge has the power to cancel the membership to anyone who violates the rules and regulations of the library or indulges in any other type of misconduct.
29. Suggestions from users on all aspects of the library services are welcome.
