Advisory for Prevention & Control of Dengue, Malaria, Jaundice & Typhoid Fever Cases

    For Malaria and Dengue Prevention:
  1. Avoid mosquito bites by wearing light coloured full-sleeved clothes.
  2. Do not move around on the lawns in the morning and evening hours. Also, keep the doors and windows closed during this time.
  3. Use personal mosquito repellent devices in your rooms. Also Mosquito nets are recommended to be used.
  4. Report the cases of water logging to Supervisors so that immediate action shall be initiated to clear the water logging. This will prevent mosquito breeding in and around hostels.
  5. Report to Health Centre, SVNIT when sudden high fever with chills, vomiting, headache, and body pain & weakness symptoms are present.
    For Typhoid and Jaundice Cases:
  1. Use Drinking water from one reliable source having a water purifier.
  2. Avoid eating outside food prepared in unhygienic conditions.
  3. Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently.
  4. Report to the Health Centre in case you have High Fever, Abdominal Pain, Loss of Appetite, Dark Yellow Coloured Urine, Nausea – Vomiting etc.

Take the guidance from Doctors at Health Centre, SVNIT when blood reports are Positive for Typhoid / Jaundice / Malaria / Dengue or (Low Platelet Counts having suspicion of Dengue fever) If hospitalization is necessary then the doctors will advise accordingly.
Regarding Mediclaim procedures please take advice from the concerned clerk of respective hostels or Office of Dean (SW).
