The SVNIT, Surat has organized Boot Camp 1.0 on “Drone Assembly, Navigation, and Applications" from 8-12 April 2023 in offline mode coordinated by Dr. Suresh Dahiya
(Asst. Prof., DoECE), Dr. Dipti P. Rana (Asst. Prof., DoCSE) and Dr. Anand Darji (Asso. Prof., DoECE) under the project “Capacity Building for Human Resource Development in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Drone and related Technology)”, a project funded by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India (GoI). The Boot Camp was aimed to exchange knowledge in the area of Unmanned Aerial Systems – Drone components, their assembly, navigation and various applications with their terminology, algorithms, case studies, and related research issues & challenges.
The eminent speakers from various profound institutes like Dr. Mangal Kothari (Prof., IIT, Kanpur), Dr. Suresh Dahiya (SVNIT, Surat), Dr. Anand Darji (SVNIT, Surat),
Dr. Dipti Rana (SVNIT, Surat), Dr. Shweta Shah (SVNIT, Surat) and Dr. Raghavendra Pal (SVNIT, Surat) delivered the expert talks. The real-time assembly of drones and hands-on with drones conducted by Phoenix Aero Club, SVNIT and Hawai Adda Aerial Innovation Pvt. Ltd., Ghaziabad along with the latest tools and technology. Mr. Janak Patel, Industrialist from National Infotech, Surat, and former Asso. Prof, DoECE, SVNIT shared the industry knowledge in a very interesting way.
A huge response for registration was received and 32 participants from the various academic institutes from Gujarat like Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Parul University, B & B Institute of Technology, C U Shah Polytechnic, Government Engineering College, Silver Oak University, Government Polytechnic College, Shree Swami Atmanand Saraswati Institute of Technology, Dr. Ghandhy Government Engineering College, and academic and industry from other parts of the nation like Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Maharashtra and College of Engineering, Trivandrum and C-DAC, Hyderabad have attended the program successfully through the theory and practices.
Participants interacted with renowned academicians and industry persons for their future endeavors. Further, the participants identify stepping stones for their research. Also, the participants appreciated the overall organization of the training programme and showed their interest to attend such programs at SVNIT in the future. The organizing committee is thankful to Meity, Government of India to provide the opportunity to conduct this boot camp 1.0.
