Dr. Kalpana C. Maheria, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, SVNIT, Surat, has been awarded the prestigious CSI-Women Scientist Award in Catalysis, by the prestigious society of India, The Catalysis Society of India (CSI) for her outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of Catalysis Research in India, on 26th February 2025 during the CSI Awards Ceremony of 24th National Symposium on Catalysis (CATSYMP - 24) on the theme, ‘Catalysis for Sustainable Chemicals, Materials & Energy’ (CSCME - 2025), and Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the CSI, held at, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET), Patiala, held during, 24th - 26th February 2025. The award was conferred by Padma Shri Awardee, Prof. G. D. Yadav (Former president of CSI) and Dr. Raksh Vir Jasra, the current President of CSI.

The Indian patent entitled " TRANSDERMAL PATCH FOR DELIVERY OF VITAMIN B12 USING HYDROTROPE AS A PENETRATION ENHANCER" (Patent No. 562594) has been granted.
The inventors are (i) Desai Meghal Ashwinkumar and (ii) Patel Akash Dhansukhbhai.

Team Agrani from SVNIT Surat has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon 2024, competing among 50,000 teams nationwide. Under the guidance of mentors Dr. Balu Parne and Dr. Chandra Prakash, they developed an innovative solution for the Government of NCT Delhi to automate fire department processes, earning a cash prize of ₹1,00,000, representing SVNIT on the National Level .

The Chem-E-Car Team of ChES SVNIT has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the " Best Use of Biological Reaction " Award at the AIChE Annual Student Conference (ASC) in San Diego. This success was made possible under the guidance of Faculty Chairperson Dr. Jignasa Gohel, Faculty Co-Chairpersons Dr. Sundar.S.K and Dr. Vineet Rathore and Faculty Mentor Dr A.K.Mungray. The team’s innovation and dedication have brought great recognition to ChES SVNIT at the international level.

The Chemical Engineering Society (ChES) is honored to receive the Outstanding Student Chapter Award for the fourth consecutive year . This achievement reflects our dedication to empowering students through impactful events like Siphon, Alchemy, Eureka K12, DWSIM Workshops and many more events which inspire creativity and practical learning.
