About Society of Automotive Engineers

SAE (Society of Automotive Engineer) is one the technical student chapter of SVNIT. There are two teams in the student chapter ‘Team Phoenix Racing’ and ‘Team Phoenix Aero’ working in the fields of Automobiles and Aeronautics respectively.
Team Phoenix Racing is a team of enthusiastic and passionate aspiring automobile engineers.Team has made its mark in various national level competitions including Student Formula car, All terrain vehicle, Electric go-kart.During their stint the team is in constant endeavor to design, manufacture and test vehicles with excellent performance and efficiency in a cost-effective manner.
Team Phoenix Aero is a team of aviation enthusiasts who aim to discover and create aerial vehicles’ uncharted cosmos and develop solutions to real-world problems. Established in August 2019, the team has seen significant growth. The keen interest in aero-modelling and growing curiosity in this field has motivated us to become the team we are today.
We work on various projects under the mentorship of our Faculty Advisors, Dr. H. B. Mehta, Dr. Vipul M. Patel, and Dr. Naresh Yarramsetty. We are looking forward to advancing our projects and engaging in competitions where top teams worldwide can compete.

Events

Every year, for new recruited team, Phoenix Racing organizes 6 weekly tasks-one week for each major automotive department (Powertrain 1, Powertrain 2, Electrical, Chassis, Brakes, Suspension & Steering). This involves department-wise research and its documentation in the format of reports. All work was done in groups, hence promoting brainstorming, discussion and debate.
Every year, at the end of January, Phoenix Aero hosts an aero-modelling week that covers a wide range of activities like workshops, seminars, hands-on sessions and competitions.

The members of team phoenix aero write monthly blogs about current or past research in the fields of aeronautics, aerospace, and aeromodelling with a mission of creating a community of like-minded people interested in aeromodelling and aviation as well as to help students gain knowledge and insights about real-life applications of engineering principles.
