About KIRDAAR

Kirdaar is the dramatic wing is all about performing, acting, improvising, directing, writing, almost any sort of art form you can wrap your head around. The most versatile, multitalented, and chill club of CHRD. For us, Emotions are everything around here (After the old CRC lawns, obviously!) This isn’t just any theatrical club, Kirdaar aka ‘role’, is what we persist in being. It teaches members to meet the real them by reliving different characters, to experience various personalities, and dwell in the uncharted waters of mystery. When you join Kirdaar, you don’t join a club; you join a family. Once a wise man said, and we quote, “Kirdaarhameshasaathrehtahai…. ApnahoyaApnaya”.

Events

  1. Rangmanch: In mid September Kirdaar conducted its first event of the semester which consisted of second year participants and mentors from third year. This is Kirdaar’s theater evening where teams are formed beforehand and the themes of their plays have already been provided to them. With a fortnight of time, the team has to polish a 10-12 minutes play comprising a full theater package.
  2. Aahwaan : Aawhan was the first event for the first year students, where they were able to showcase their acting skills. Mentored by the second and third year, this competition was one week long and the teams were to create a play of 5-6 minutes. Performed on the old crc lawns, Aawhan marked as a great start for the offline events of Kirdaar and the Freshers got an in hand experience of acting.
  3. Pre-scripted Play : A play recreated by the experienced 3rd-year members of Kirdaar. The members explore a never before encountered genre and try to get the hang of it. The team is then tasked with searching for a script that aligns with the genre and enacting it. They are free to make a few tweaks in the storyline, but the crux of the drama should remain the same.
  4. Nukkad Natak : Nukkad Natak is an ancient form of dramatics, which has been depleted over the years. Members of CHRD works for the perseverance of this unique genre of dramatics. On the auspicious Republic Day of India, members of Kirdaar roll up their sleeves to highlight the social and taboo problems in modern society and provide an appropriate solution for those using their acting skills.
  5. Off-Stage : An online drama competition exclusively for the second year to step up their game and explore various drama genres. The students will collaborate under the guidance of experienced members of Kirdaar, and the output will be in an online short movie, which will be screened later on in front of the entire student chapter.
  6. Rangmanch : A unique event for second and third yearites to strengthen their bond with classics of Indian drama as well as with themselves. The inspired teams put up a show with imagination and discipline that leave room for nary a glitch, making time pass in the blink of an eye. Each group is given a different genre, whether it be fantasy, poetic, farce, or any other.
  7. Sadda Galla : An open-mic event aimed at gaining a sneak-peek into the brilliant minds. Here the stage is open to all types of art forms. Sadda Galla enables the students to explore solo performances and helps them overcome their stage fright along with enhancing their public speaking skills.
  8. Spandan : The biggest, best, and the most terrific event of Kirdaar on the calendar. The stage is set with amber floodlights and the biggest audience in Mega Night’s fest. However, there’s one rule which is no rule! Anyone from any year can form a team and put up a show to their liking with a significant amount of hard work at stake and competition against the best of theatrical plays; the craziness is more than ever!

  1. Rise of the Design Team
“Design responds to a changing world.” Design is one of the most potent forces in our lives, whether or not we are aware of it. If we look around and think just for a moment, “why are things the way they are?” we can understand that design was involved and has been with us since we stepped onto this world.
The Coronavirus pandemic has changed everything. Its impact on global wellness and the economy has forced everyone in every nook & corner to evolve, both in real-time as well as in the long term. In this collection of ideas, tips, thoughts, and strategies, we explore how design can make the world a healthier place.
Design plays an essential role in daily life. In these modern times, it is more noticeable than ever. That is why people acknowledge it and show more interest in pursuing design or at least learning about it.
This year was a big turning point for everyone, majorly for the design team, who was affected but positively. A spike of interest in Designing which led to the spurge of the Design team’s population growth, is one of the most notable changes we noticed in this pandemic. With a laptop in a room, earphones plugged in with LOFI music playing; boundaries were pushed, transformations were made, the design team grew more vital and emerged as the digital Face of CHRD. A digital face is crucial to the visibility and longevity of a club, and the design team played a pivotal role in building CHRD in this pandemic. The design team gave CHRD a New Logo, a new identity that better matched the club’s value.
Design is one of the most powerful forces, and a good designer holds that power in his hands. The future holds a lot more opportunities for designers, as everything is going digital. With this thought, we hope the design team touches new heights in the upcoming years, maybe a designing Brand deal here and there, ’cause we have great designers in the crowd unnoticed.
  2. Expanding Our Horizons
Change is necessary. Change is perpetual, inevitable, and constant. The only way that we can live is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. That being said, CHRD brings about Two new changes in this new academic year with opportunities for growth and expansion of the student chapter.
Two New Communities - M.I.N.D and SAMVAAD, are pleasantly introduced as the new ‘phase’ of CHRD. The objectives of these communities are the promotion of core aspects of human resource development. We need your support to build, grow, and sustain our newly built communities.
  3. M.I.N.D
CHRD is known to step out of its shoes to create a unique and knowledgeable experience for everyone at club. This year we have decided to take a leap further and move into a new dimension by introducing one of its new communities, ‘M.I.N.D: Moving into New Dimension’.
‘Tell me, and I forget, teach me, and I may remember, involve me, and I learn’. Keeping this ideology as its core idea, the main objective of this community would be to focus on the overall growth with all the members’ cooperation and engagement.
Community members will embark on several developmental projects to ensure skill development by mobilizing themselves for self-help projects and other government-sponsored development initiatives. Development implies growth plus positive changes. Community development is a way of strengthening civil society by prioritizing the actions of communities and their perspectives in the development of social, economic, and environmental policies.
Whether it is about developing traditional engineering skills through various engaging workshops, polishing communication skills through various interactive sessions, developing entrepreneurial spirit and innovation with the help of talks from experienced entrepreneurs and leaders, at M.I.N.D, we would concentrate on the overall skill enhancement. So, gear up as there is much excitement yet to come, and of course, “Community that learns together, grows together.”
  4. SAMVAAD-Let’s talk it out
Samvaad is a new community-initiated by CHRD for the mental and emotional well-being of the students. It is a student self-help group consisting of voluntary associations of people who share a common desire to overcome mental illness or otherwise increase their cognitive or emotional well-being.
Intending to focus on the psychological development of students, we will be working on normalizing the mental health stigma in students and guiding them on how to resolve the problems faced in their college life. The students will learn ancient methods like meditation to overcome mental states like anxiety and depression. It will be a safe space for students, where they can open up about anything and everything they want, without the fear of being judged or feeling shy.
It also promises to focus on educating and helping students win their fight against addiction. Often viewed as a weakness, a lack of willpower, wilful stubbornness, or a character flaw, addiction is the only disease that people get yelled at for having. When people arm themselves with the knowledge, it helps them stop blaming, shaming; then, healing can be the focus rather than anger and disappointment.
The main aim of Samvaad is to work for the Mental Health betterment of every student because Mental Health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
